i have a socket i need to move around 6 \\\" down the supply comes from above and theres not enough .... how do i do this

You could add another socket as a spur if this socket is on the ring.
Otherwise you will need to extend the cable either by adding 2 junction boxes or crimping a new cable onto the old. Use ratchet crimpers if using the second method.

you could also incoparate the new socket and old socket as a ring circuit providing the first socket is on a ring
