Afternoon all,
I've just bought a 1970's Terraced House which has a fairly decent loft space, Unfortunately the Cold Water Tank is between the hatch and the bulk of the attic. Can it be moved to the otherside of the hatch and if so are there any pitfalls I should look for. The CW Tank is currently directly above the Hot water cylinder heated by a 1986 warm air unit. I thought about getting a combi installed but it's taken 15 years to move out of a house with radiators!!

Thanks in advance for any help/advice posted.

PS I replumbed my old houses kitchen and bathroom with speedfit pipework/fittings could I use the same system on the CW/HW feed pipes?

I would be looking at how the tank is going to be supported. Where it is now has probably been re-inforced to take the weight.
I wouldn't think it would affect the performance but see what the others think. :D

If you move it far, use 28mm pipe- it probably has 22mm now. It might be an idea to lift it, if it'll go a few feet up. Then you'll get a reasonable shower without a pump.
Yes you can use plastic pipe/fittings. Speedfit DO make 28mm.

I'd bin the lot and use a combi though.
