Just had a look at a house my mates buying this afternoon and he says he wants to put a extension on the back of it.

The thing is the back garden is terraced and a lot of it needs to be dug out before the bucket goes into the ground for the footing.

Any one any idea what 1m3 of soil in the ground is in metric tons and what it bulks up once out the ground.

Cheers

i seem to recall a cubic meter in the ground is about 1500kg but out the ground will be 2 cubic meters in a skip
