:?: What is the mud mixture breakdown for the tile foundation on a shower floor? And, what is the procedure for mixing it?

In the uk we use waterproof floor tile adhesive, readymixed or powder.
For powder you just add water. You must be able to get that in USA.

Thanks for the info but I was referring to the base (cement mixture) that one would in prior to tiling with thinset, etc.

3 part of 3/4 ballast & 1 part of cement,

Not sure what you mean by ' mud mixture '.

3/4 ballast over here is 3/4" stone + sharp sand

Masona my friend,

Across the big sea, we refer to "mud" as cement, i.e., mud the shower walls and floor as opposed to using cement board or Durrock (a brand name cement board). My question has to do with the portions of sand, cement and water!

Thanks, Kaykon

Can someone elaborate more on this "waterproof adhesive"? Are you talking about mastic? Who is the manufacturer? Thanks.
