The best way is with dual rcd boards and puting lights and sockets on opposing rcds

Personally I'd say the *best* way is to use all RCBOs, that way if one trips, it only affects the circuit that caused it to trip, rather than everything else. If (for cost reasons or whatever) you use a dual RCD board then yes, it is best to put the lights and sockets on opposing ones...

My opinion is based more on common sense and a bit of experience of disaster recovery.
Neither of which are relevant to what the regulations say about SELV installations....

More often they are designed to meet the requirements that have been foreseen as to be expected.
No - they are designed to meet, and properly deal with, the requirements in the relevant standards for SELV sources.


It is when the un-expected happens that they can fail in a way that makes they no longer SELV compliant.
No - it they are CE marked and say "SELV" then they are SELV.
