My ADP7406 dishwasher won't start

I'd really appreciate some help. My whirlpool dishwasher won't start.

When I select a cycle for the dishwasher and press start the green light comes on and then starts flashing, the dishwasher makes a noise but the cycle doesn't start.

The display is only showing the selected cycle length of time, no error message.
