My Ventilator for a Ford Escort Station Works partially

My blower works only when the control button is on 1(one).Control levels 2(two) & 3 (Three)does not work at all.I've changed the resistor located in the engine compartment and the switch in the dashboard to which the control button is attached,still no success.Can anybody help.(The heater also works only on one)

Sounds very strange, go back and check all your connections, it should if both switch and resistor are OK. Is the speed its working on maximum or minumum?

Thank you for your response, but i'm not sure of what speed you are referring to.If it's the speed of the blower,i will say its at minimum because it takes a while to clear the steam when formed on the wind shield. Please can you give more details on the connectors to check?

If the blower is on full you would normally be able to hear it, if it is on the lowest setting the resistor pack must be working because the current flows through it to the heater. You have the total resistance of the resistor in circuit on the lowest speed, as you advance the switch it uses less resistance for each increase of speed, so it would seem that the switch is not operating for some reason so you would need to check the connections from the switch to the resistor.
