loads new parts fitted, fan runs, air pressure valve works tested for power at c terminal ok. new ignition board, new electrode, power there also but no spark. no current in cable from board to the multifunction valve even though the power is there on the board. ??
if Very good chance the new board is faulty ,
Some of The myson apollo`s used to use a different board from the thorn apollo which was basically the same boiler and every other part was the same and a lot of people thought they used the same board to. Possibly you have got a board from an apollo.
Threw a myson board out just last week as i havent fitted one in 20 years the boards used to say myson on them
Electrode cable was broken, board was only £35 , and the previous engineer did say that the air sensor switch was the problem. All this has been replaced, boiler fan comes on there is power at all the inlets and outlets apart from the solenoids. Power at board connection for them but no power at spade connectors at solenoids. Surely this would not stop it sparking, there is power at ht connection at board also. ?
Air pipe from fan was on wrong connection. It was on positive connection + on the aps , when it should have been on the negative connection. _ now have a fully working boiler. Happy days.
Ps the electrode cable was broken, and the old aps was faulty anyway and needed replaced. Ignition board was purchased at very cheap price at £35 pounds. So I have a spare just incase. Labour costs nil. gas engineer put pipe on wrong connection, suspect broke the cable also, then said could not get parts. Then tried to sell us a new boiler. Guess who?
