Lower spray arm is free from blockage and rotates freely by hand. Upper arm rotates fine in the wash cycle, but the lower arm stays stuck. If I temporarily block the upper arm outlet, water does emanate from the lower arm but not enough force to spin it.

I suspect the diverter valve in the Instantaneous water Heating unit is stuck. I've used a dishwasher cleaning thingy on hottest temp, but still no good.

How easy is it to replace? Is it do-able for a DIY-er of reasonable skills?

Are there any instructions for this job? Or do you recommend an engineer to do it?

Or could it be another problem?

Thanks.

Sorry, I meant swapping out the entire unit! I realised the diverter wasn't serviceable.

Are there any instructions to carry out the full instantaneous heater swap out?

Also eSpares seems to think this unit is also for my Dishwasher model above, as well as the link you gave?

I think there is some confusion as both parts appear to suit the model number!!!!

The original BSH p/n for this model was 266196. It has since been substituted by p/n 491755. Changing part numbers often causes a little confusion with 3rd party suppliers. I know I have written a step by step for changing these out. Use the search facility & type in "instantaneous water heater", you should find what you need.

Thanks zipper.

TBH it sounds as though it's a tad more tricky than I thought! I happily replaced some brushes on my Hotpoint Washer electric motor earlier this year, but this water heater thingy needs the touch of someone in the know.

In the end I've arranged a Bosch service engineer to come and do it. £89 fixed call out + parts and with 12 month warranty. Has to be worth it considering the hammer the dishwasher has had more or less everyday for 11 years!!

Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.
