I fitted a new Delchem plastic ballcock in a WC cistern today. I am re-using the old round float and had to shorten the arm pretty well to the last hole. It is on a tank so I fitted the low-pressure cone.

it drips about once every ten seconds. I took it off, checked the cone and rubber diaphragm were clean and well-seated, did up the plastic nuts tight, still drips.

Any suggestions?

the arm on this one comes as two channels which slide together like a telescope and are fixed with a couple of plastic cotter pins.

seems like not enough pressure to push the ball up to close the valve fully
because of the short arm.

no other ideas?

I thought it might be the arm length, so I mentioned it

I happened to have this one with me and Delchem have a good reputation.

I usually have a fluidmaster in the box, but I am away from home and had the delchem in the shed (am at my mum's house for the week)

I resent paying twice the price at B&Q.
