Hello experts! I have just had a new CH system installed with Biasi (Riva Compact HE) combi boiler and 4 vertical rads and 1 horizontal. They all have a thermostatic control. The three smaller vertical rads (1800mm tall) are pretty noisy and since they are in the bedrooms this is a problem. Other rads make no noise at all.
They make a loud knocking noise - quiet tapping then gets louder and louder. It happens about every 10mins when the heating is on. Last night it was so disturbing that I turned them off by their individual thermostats and it stopped.
My plumber is being pretty unhelpful. This is partly because he hasn't stuck around long enough to hear the noise and partly because he blames my choice of rads. Manufacturer suggested thermostatic valve might be sticking - told plumber and he says it's not. Or that there might be debris in the system - is this likely with a new system? Plumber has reduced the flow as a result of my complaints but since then the noise has got louder. Have also bled the system so no air left in it. Any ideas????
