Please can someone give a step by step guide on putting in a new internal doorway ??

Basically cutting it out (already a window) of breezeblock, and am unsure where to go from there.
Does it have to be a certain size etc ??

As a suggestion, since nobody has replied:

1. Buy book.
2. Read book.

Bear in mind that you'll need to ensure that the lintel is adequate.

You can get door frame kits from door suppliers. Do your utmost to get the frame square and leve/upright - pack out between bricks and frame where necessary. Use good quality frame fixing plugs and screws. Use an SDS power drill for clean accurate holes. Measure twice and cut once. Be kind to old people and small animals....

if your just extending the window opening downwards then its fairly simple as youve already got the lintel in place which is the biggest buggerance factor. Plan your door size opening, so its as close as possible to the opening youve already got. you can then get a ready made door frame for it.

in a nutshell

remove window
cut masonry below window opening to form door opening
close cavitys with cavity closers (they insulate the opening and act as a dpc.)
bed door frame on mortar with dpc
get true and level and square
fix to masonry
job done apart from hanging door

by the way you mention window but state its an internal door, which is it?
