I want to move my washing machine from the front of the garage to the back. Unfortunately there is no drain at the back of the house near the garage. Can anyone give me any advice on building a drain. Is it an easy job to do or would I have to get a tradesman in (Plumber? builder?)

there are a lot of regulations and test that must be carried out digging a new drain, can be quite costly. is there any way you could run a waste pipe down the inside of your garage to where the washer used to be? as long as you keep the right gradient and within in allowed lengths siphonage wont acquire and you'll save a lot of money.

if you use a 38mm (40mm) waste pipe the max length is 3 metres with a gradient of 18-90mm per metre.

i hope this helps
