I'm having a new phone line installed for home working and need to know how to go about routing a cable before BT come. I don't want the cable to be routed outside the house so want to route it myself inside from the front door to the room I intend to use.

What I need to know is this:

1. Will BT accept my cable and work with it, or insist they route their own cable where they see fit

2. If BT accept my routed cable, what type of cable / number of cores should I use and are there any specific conditions I must adhere to when routing it?

Thanks :)

Probablly the easiest thing to do is to get BT to install the NTE5 where you want thier cable entering the house. Then connect your own cable as a extension to the consumer side terminals of the NTE5.

Yep, get them to fit the NTE at the front door, and you can run a secondary extension using preferably CW1308 cable.
