Im wanting to remove my 8 year old staircase and replace it with a stronger version.
Its been in since the house was built 8 years ago and has been "repaired" twice in the last four years.Every step creaks and groans so loud it wakes the kids.
Im just looking to see if any one has had this done before and can they advise any good web links to look into.
The staircase is a bog standard 13 step straight rise flanked by 2 full length plasterboard walls, 1 handrail attached to wall, first two steps have a partial staircase/spindle assembly, approx 5 spindles rising to hall wall.
Just looking for further info to add to my research.
I think i may be able to contact the builder and find out who built the staircase but then again its so shoddy i wouldnt want them to supply and fit another.
Regards
