hi

i have had some fence panels and posts delivered which I ordered from a local supplier.

the fence panels/gate etc are great quality and look fine. however all the 7 posts have a kind of green/white mould on them. i questioned this when the delivery took place and was told that the green stuff shows the wood has been treated, that basically it should rub off and fade.

my question to you all is - what is this mould-like stuff and why is it on my fence posts and not the panels?? am i worrying over nothing and that the treated wood i ok?

thanks
fence newbie.

perfectly normal with tanalised fence posts that are stored in a stack. fence panels dont get the same sort of treatment.
