I have Baxi boiler with gravity water and pumped CH. Every so often there is quite a loud bang from the boiler as if its expanding/contracting. Is this normal with back boilers?

What could be the cause of this, is it knackered boiler?

usually sludge in the system bakes hard in the heat exchanger causing localised boiling try a cleanser in the system for a start :)

Cant try a cleanser as its a primatic system.

in which case the only way is to remove the heat exchanger and have it descaled
btw how many pc do you post off :?:

Would this be a major job?

What you mean how many PC do I post off?

Thanks Kev,

If I have the Cylinder replaced would it be better to change it for a normal indirect cylinder then put an extra tank in the loft? Then in future I would be able to add cleaning solutions.
