Hi,

Have recently moved into a new build house with aluminium gutters. When raining we can hear trickling in the gutters which seems normal, but in certain sections there are some constant loud dripping noises. In the dead of night it’s loud enough to wake us up and keep us awake.

I’ve been up there with a hosepipe but can’t seem to recreate the noise from outside, possibly as the amount of water isn’t large enough. The actual noise itself sounds like water dripping into water rather than hitting the guttering. Has anybody encountered this issue? A potential solution is to install gutter brushes to break the fall from roof tile to gutter?

For reference, the house is 4 bed, 2 storey detached, approx 2100 sqft (if that can affect amount of rain). Flat concrete overlapping tiles, no chimney breast, and 1 velux but on the opposite side to the noise. The downspouts go directly into the ground and I can’t hear the noise at ground level.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks.
