Got a Grundfos 15 - 60 super electric CH water pump, it's got very noisy when working on a morning, also there is quite alot of air in the HW from the taps which there didn't use to be. Can anybody shed any light on this? Any advice grateful

the bearing could be on it way out on the pump.
but that won't cause air in your hw to the taps.

Depends on the noise! It could be air in the system and thats what you are hearing as it gets pushed through the pump or it could be the pump is reaching the end of it's life. To change it would cost around 60-80 pounds DIY. As to air in the HW system, what type of heating set up do you have? If it's Y plan i can't see how the pump can be causing air to get into the hw side.....it's sealed from the heating side

not sure what you mean by the term "y plan?" it's an ideal classic boiler in garage, gravity fed system. one of the upstairs rads needs bleeding weekly (lots of air in it, always same rad) when we run the CH system too. There is a small canister with red cap on top of it in pipework just above the pump, it's set at closed position with red cap closed too, does that sound correct?

if your rad is always getting air in it the system must be drawing air in somewhere probably from the vent pipe.

can be many problems cause that, sludge in system, bad pipework design etc.
is that a airvent with the red cap ? have you a pic.
as you describe sounds like a gravity hw pumped heating system so you won't have a y plan motorised valve

have uploaded picture of vent?, is that a motorised valve near to it?

yes it is a airvent. open the cap half a turn. they let air out but shouldn't take air in.

do you mean the red cap on top half a turn? the black cylinder turns too and is set to closed position, shoule i leave it there?
