Noisy pipes?

When we turn off the tap or the shower we get a very strange noise coming from the water system. I believe this is not coming from the taps and appears to be outside the bathrooms (one en-suite and one family). So far it only seems to be when we use hot water.

We currently have a sani-flo in the en-suite and a normal system in the other bathroom. We have a combi boiler in the kitchen but the noise is not made when using the kitchen taps, only the two bathrooms.

It sounds like air blowing through the pipes but I could be way off.

Any ideas or do you need further info?

Do you have a cold water sotrage cistern in the loft?

Does it happen when you use the hot tap in the bathroom also?

How long after you have turned off the tap does the noise go on for?

Hi, no we live in a flat so don't have a water storage cistern. I've not timed how long it lasts but maybe around 30-40 seconds. Thanks.
