I have just moved house and inherited a Saniflow macerator pump connected to a toilet in an ensuite.

The problem is that the (very) noisy motor keeps springing into life every 15 minutes or so, even at night!

Is this normal? Are they meant to do this? I'd imagine that they should only chop and pump (so to speak) each time the toilet is flushed and not otherwise.

The filling valve may need adjusting on your toilet as it seems like it is probably slowly and quietly filling up and causing the pump to kick in. With it being at regular intervals it seems like it is taking that amount of time to reach it's limit .

Maybe you got your solicitors bill for the house sale and shiitte a brick, needs a lump hammer and chisel

It could also be that the non-return valve in the saniflow is allowing a small amount of waste back into the pump unit
