Read through various threads referring to noisy pipes and such but no mention of my problem so was wondering if anyone can help.

When we flush the toilet we get all the rattles and banging from the pipes which is made worse if a cold tap is turned on as well.

There is NO noise if only taps are turned on though.

I guess it's an air block some where in the water pipe to the toilet but have no idea how to cure it.

We have lived in the house for just over a year and the noise only started from the toilet a few weeks ago but has increased in volume in that time.
Also the water has not been turned off so no idea how air would get in the system anyway.

Any ideas

Thanks in advance
Malc.

check the ballvalve in the toilet cistern

Why is it always the simple things (me included) ;)

Just lifted the lid flushed the toilet pushed the ballvalve up and down and now the wife is happy NO banging and rattles.

Thanks very much Kev.
