oak venneer boards

I have made some office furniture out of oak veneer boards.
What hard wearing durable varnish/ sealer should I use?
What would be used on bar surfaces in pubs?

I tend to use a waterbased floor lacquer, hard wearing and easy to apply, 3 coats with a light rub down between each works OK.

I have used this on a table before,

gives a very hard wearing finish resistant to impacts as well as wear.

I have used a water based product before on floors called pacific base.
i will do a test patch and let you know how I get on.
