can anyone tell me what df means on a danesmoor DF oil boiler
and should it have direct ventilation to outside

Are you sure it's DF and not CF?

CF is Conventional Flue.

Definatly Danesmoor DF 15/20 on the boiler front
Small 4in flue pipe leading into brick chimney

Yes as its an open flue appliance it should have ventilation to outside
