Just noticed a leak from my oil heating storage tank, this looks like it's from the "out valve" if that's what it's called?? Can this valve be replaced and if so does the tank need to be drained prior to??
Depends on the type of tank, if plastic, you will need to have an empty tank, if however you have a steel tank with a 2" vent pipe & 2" fill point (no hatch) it is possible to fit 2" plugs to the fill & vent to form a vacuum which will allow the outlet valve to be wound out and a new one fitted -it's not recommended as a DIY job though!
