we have lead pipes in our old bungalow coming in from the outside stop cock so if they are illegal towork on then why have the water board just connected our meter to one and we had a large split recently in an old lead pipe under the kitchen no one wants to work on them or is there other reasons any ?

If your worried about a lead supply line then you should have it replaced to a MDPE one, were you hoping that the water board would just change the supply while putting a meter in?

I work on them. Plenty of people do.
