Gloworm ultimate running a fully pumped, open vented system.
This system was installed approx 6/7 years ago and has been perfect up till this summer. It seems that reverse circulation is occuring on one upstairs rad. 3port is fine and pump fine, any ideas ?

why do you say you got reverse flow? and how have you checked 3-port?

I would think that it was reverse circulation as it only happens when the heating is off, but the hot water is on. Checked 3 port by setting programmer to hot water on and moved the manual lever on the valve from auto to the manual position, there was plenty of resistence so assume it is ok.

your 3-port valve is more than likely passing, turn hot water on wait for five then see if ch port off valve is hot, you will need to hold pipe 6-12" from valve as not to confuse condutivity with valve passing, be careful the pipe may be v.hot.

You sure that it is not just a by pass rad does it heat up when you just want hot water as well as central heating?

do any other rads get hot?
