Outdoor elec cables and mastic/sealant

99% of sealants will conduct electricty, the only ones that dont are genuine silcone

A resin joint with through crimped connections would probably be the best option, do you have any experience working with SWA? Do you know any electricians which could come and give you on site advice?

Ive never worked with resin joints as yet Spark but can you still carry on the continuity of the steel wire using resin joints?

Thanks for all the advice everyone. My neighbours a spark and I've asked him about it. After he stopped laughing!!! He was very helpful. He's going to test the cable for power. I'll ask him about the resin joints.

that will be cable joints that are filled with resin, "not joints of resin"

i found out the hard way, many years ago

or the easy way, meter a dolop of it (and i dont mean insulation resistance)
