Hi Guys

Would really appreciate some brief advice. I have also checked through previous posts & the wiring diagrams sticky posts also.

I am doing a very simple job. Wiring up an outdoor lantern to an already existing switch inside the hall, which leads to an outside rose which is currently fitted with a blanking panel. Its basically ready to accept a light.

My light has a chock-block with two cables, blue (Neutral) and Brown (Live)

Taking the blanking panel of the rose, shows four cables connected to a respective chock block.

There's a sheathed red yellow cable
There's a green/yellow which I'm assuming is Earth
There's a blue which I'm assuming Neural
There's a red which I'm assuming is a live.

What's the yellow cable? Is this a switched live?

Which one's do I wire into the chock block on the light.

Thanks Andy

And just for others benefits, that worked. The red-sheathed yellow was the switched live, and the red, permanent live. I've no idea why you'd want your light permanently on, but anyway, that worked.
