I'm painting my architrave and door liners, they are fresh wood.

I have used Knotting on the knots andPrimed with dulux oil based primer

My top coat is dulux water based satinwood.

The problem i'm having is that the paint is drying near the middle of the brush causing little bits of dried paint going onto the surface.

Any way around this?

Have you 'Pre wetted' the brush befre starting? i.e. simply dip brush in water to cover bristles for a few seconds, then shake out excess water so your left with damp bristles. When your not using the brush (even for a few seconds) keep the bristles immersed in the paint.
Commen with water paints is the brush needs to be washed and combed regularly to get rid of the 'bits' your experiencing. There is a special comb but erm I use a wire brush  >>>runs ;)

When using water based paints I just spray a mist of water onto the brush to prevent the paint from drying.

I don't pre-wet the brushes as I find that it makes them too floppy.
