Painted silk accidently... Can I apply matt on top of silk

Colour strikes can often differ from one tin to another, so if you purchase say two tins it would be wise to box (mix) the two together.

Ok I have now painted the second coat of dulux matt emulsion. But it still seems bit shiny and it seems colour is not spread evenly.

I have also put same matt emulsion single coat on wall, it looks better than ceiling where I accidentally put silk emulsion (same colour).

Not sure what to do, should I put third coat?

Give it 24 hours to ensure it's properly dry, then revaluate. You may need another coat on the ceiling if it looks patchy. Assuming you are rollering, did you roller the ceiling in the same direction for each section asyou painted it?

I also think that this is not a problem with the paint but more a problem regarding the application of it.

You are right, It was application problem. I think what I was doing I was painting ceiling with roller in random directions.

In the third coat, I applied all paint and rolled it in one direction. It looks much better now.

Just for my knowledge, are there any guidelines how to apply ceiling paint with respect to main window as light from window shows patches ?

Should I paint paralel to window and against the light?

Sorry for silly questions, I'm first second time painting in my life and have never painted any ceiling.

Thanks for all help.
