Painting over water stains

Hi there,

We've got brown water stains on our kitchen ceiling from a leak. We've tried polybonding over them and then putting numerous coats of paint on but they're still showing through. Is there something else we can put on or will we need to plaster to cover them up?

if the problem has been rectified,paint it with gloss and when dry,resume with emulsion

Thanks B, we'll try that. The problem has been rectified allright. We re-felted the roof.
