Part P risk

Hulky hinted at what he did for a living.

where's mi brush,,

Electricians are not secretive, we try to explain in simple language so the even people who sweep up for a living can understand. Some area's are too technical for ameoba's to comprehend.

All them qualifications and you do not know the difference between an EIC and a PIR. BTW what qualifications do you hold? You must be extremely busy fitting in all of those skills and studying. Multi skilled engineer or jack of all trades?

Incredible - you are without question the most talented poster in the forum.
How you define the word "discipline" hulky?

But somehow not so insecure and empty that he has to register with multi-disciplined-engineer websites just to rant and insult them.

.oh and by the way my cv has been known to put some people off employing me because they don't like to employ people with more quals than themselves even though it could be of benefit to their business!!!
Somehow I don't think that's the reason they don't employ you...

hulky, that's all very nice, but I'm not sure who you're replying to; I thought my question was reasonable, albeit a gently teasing one. FYI, I'm not an electrician, at least not the kind that you appear to have assumed I am.

There's some inconsistency here - someone who's intelligent enough to hold qualifications in everything you've listed would normally be able to spell correctly and follow the rules of grammar and punctuation - or is an English 'O' level the missing jewel from that crown of a CV.

Referring again to that intellect, why (a) would you want to be employed and (b) would you present a CV that knowingly puts people off? One answer to this would be that you like to show off, which would explain what you're doing on this forum. Another possible scenario is that you're just a big juicy fibber of the whopping kind.

FYI, I also have a motorcycle, but I think that's all we have in common.

eeewww, where's mi hand bag? I've just seen the amount of posts you three have been busying your selves with MY, you have been busy .Is this all you do in your spare time......saaaaaaaad. Anyway no more time to chat, got a life to get on with, an a motorcycle to ride!!! part "p" or not it still won't stop the cowboys!! ;)

It is always worth bearing in mind the following quote when dealing with engineers:

"When I fist went to university, I cud not even spell engineer.

Now I are one".

This was given to me many years ago by an engineering lecturer at Leicester University. He reckoned the subtext was you aren't employing an engineer for their skills with spelling and grammar, in the same way you wouldn't employ a doctor on the basis of their handwriting.... ;)

A fair ad reasonable point coshhassessor, but what say you to this:
if you think that was a hint at what I do for a living ... <snip> ... and sign manufacturing illuminated/non-illuminated, wooden, plastic, signwriting

I dread to think what those signs look like!

I, for one, am skeptical as to the verity of hulky's claim.
