patio door lock

Hello all,
I would like to know how to remove/replace my patio door lock.I have no key just moved into the house.I have tried unscrewing the screw on inside of door frame but lock would not come out so assume it is in wrong position for removal.In case you wondering there is a conservetry built on back of house so not external door but would like to sort it.Any advice gratefully recieved
