periodic - thatched property

hello all,
ive been asked to undertake a periodic inspection on a thatched property.

are there any regs which apply to thatched properties which i should be aware of?? or anything i should look out for, never worked on a thatched property before.

I don't think there's anything specific but it's always a good idea to check for firehoods on downlighters. Where practical, I always check roofspaces for rodent damage, either to the thatch itself leaving reed on or near cable runs, or to the cables themselves.

No they don't. Firehoods prevent the passage of fire. They do NOT prevent hot downlighters from setting fire to things, nor were they ever designed to.
