My chain saw is about 6 months old. It hard to start from cold. I prime it and have used the choke. (Then flooded it) So I have to take the plug out heat it up with my blow lamp. Pop it back in ,pull the starter cord and away we go.
Has anyone had problems with starting petrol chain saw.
I have a lawn mower, trimmer same model petrol. Starts first time.
Perhaps I am doing something wrong.
Any advice would be helpful thanks.

These aren't usually bad starters (is yours the 4040 series?)
Clean the air filter, try a new plug and don't over prime it - or if you think you are, try to start without the choke, keeping the throttle wide open.
So long as you can see fuel in the priming bulb, thats usually enough.
John :)
