The boss's Son has bought a 306 non runner hoping to move on and make a profit, he dont have the code to put in the keypad and the last owner cant remember what it was!!! Yeah, sounds a bit suspect, plus it was bought on Fleabay.
Anyone know a way of starting this car without resorting to a Main Dealer?

I`m guessing 1.9TD?

These keypads are notoriously unreliable! If I remember correctly the code is stored in the actual pump! Usualy if a code was forgotton back at Citroen we had to send the pump away to a specialist to be de-coded!

Top tip - if you do get the right code and the light goes green, unplug the keypad and the pump will remain in an unlocked state ;)

Cheers guys, its a '96 or '97 cant remember and its a 1.4 petrol.

Well you could try the factory number 1111, if this does not work then its down to the scrap yard for an ecu and keypad out of the same car as they are paired(making sure the ecu part no is the same as you already have). If you do get it started disconnect the key pad for good whilst its running and you wont need the key pad ever again. ;)

Thanks for your help, looks like he will need to make a trip to the scrap yard.

Obviously make sure the scrap yard knows the number of the key pad from the one your buying or it will be a bit pointless.

Or change the ECU for a "free running" one
Loses the Immobiliser though. no need for key code
if it's a petrol derivative it will be and ECU part number on the side like
IAW 1AP.10
IAW 1AP.20
IAW 1AP.40
