Philmac transitional couplers

hey I wondered if anyone has used Philmac transitional couplers to connect lead to 15mm copper. I thinking these could be easier then lead locks. Thanks for any advice

doitall can you tell a mere sparky over here how they work?
Are they just a compression fitting that accepts a large range of diameters?

Yep, a compression fitting with a grab ring for different materials.

One of the best transitional fittings ever.

ok thanks I would prefer to use these as I have heard lead locks can be prone to leaks. Were can i purchase these fittings from and how much do the cost?
 
Most plumbers and builders merchants will have them.

Cost who knows what they charge, £15 QUID ISH
 
Different sizes.

Each fitting does a range of various sizes.

No, they use the same grab ring.

It will be mark on the pkt what sizes and materials it will do.
 
Thanks doitall. What size is the lead pipe usualy 3/4 and 1/2 inch? Is this the outside diameter. Thanks for your help.
