Picture wall light problem

Hello all,

My crome picture wall light has played up. A few week ago 1 of the bulbs failed. A few days ago the 2nd bulb failed after flickering a bit so i decided to change the bulbs. But now nothing lights, there is 240v to the bulb holder - i checked with a multi meter, but i also noticed that there is no resistance from neutral to the crome case (which is earthed) is this normal and does anyone have any ideas.

when you say no resitance you do mean a dead short dont you? this is not right, i suggest you take the fitting down and have a look for loose / burnt wires
