I need to plaster a 600mm high dwarf wall in my conservatory as well as the house wall. I have already bought the plasterboard but I want to know the best way to fix it. The house wall is normal house brick and the dwarf wall is thermalite block.

Can I just use an adhesive or do I need to screw it as well? It will be difficult to screw into the house bricks. If adhesive is ok, what type. I have loads of PVA. Is this strong enough and how should I apply it (neat etc).

I am hoping to get a good enough finish to paint on without skimming. Do you paint to the white side?

Thanks

You should use proper plaster board adhesive which come as a big sack of powder for about £5 - they don't seem to sell it in most diy stores though, only b&poo warehouses or builders merchants.

I happened to notice it in Wickes today, 25kg for £4.99.

Builders merchants are usually cheaper for anything like this, that involves building stuff. Anyone who doesn't know their nearest yards should look them up, I usually find them more helpful and DIY-friendly than the DIY-chains!
