Guys - can someone give me a heads up on whether this is a good quote:

>3 small bedrooms - remove cracked ceiling plasterboard, put up new, skim all new ceilings and walls
>bathroom - skim all walls and ceiling
>hallway - skim all
>small front room - skim all
>back room & kitchen - nothing needed.

All materials and labour - £1700 (first price was £2000).

Is this good - I have no idea!

It sounds about right to me but if you are unsure get a few more quotes to compare.

What's "good"? What ever price you get it at is a waste of money if you don't like the result (and it's there for a long time). What age is the house? What sort of state is it in that you need to skim almost the whole house? If you have an older house with lime plaster, you should consider using similar materials to make good. If you use modern materials, it is hard (won't flex) and likely to crack.
