Other than the conductors are not then identified correctly, does it really matter?
Well, it won't pass its PAT, for one! ;)
And for two, it may be a shock to the (rather silly) person who is trying to fix their device, but has only turned it off from the front panel switch; and without testing for dead, discovers parts of the PCB are still live! :)

I looked at my washing machine plug and for some reason it has burnt spots. There are melt spots around the plug. I was also getting a burning smell. Turned it off.

How come this happened?
Is it a washer/drier?

Who fitted that plug?
