We have a 100+ year old roll top cast iron bath in our new (old) home. My husband's a builder but has never plumbed an antique bath. The bath doesn't have an overflow and having spoken to building regs, we don't necessarily need to put one in.

But does anyone know how to connect an old bath to the waste without an overflow? And if the bath waste is 1 inch and modern fittings 1.5 inches, how do we convert it?

Must admit am totally lost but would appreciate any advice

You can buy bushes to change waste sizes and a blanking plug for the overflow. An old type independent plumbing shop may be able to help.
