Hi all.
I forgot to add into my previous post that I am a retired builder and not up to date on all things now.

What is the best way for a youngster these days wanting to become a plumber, is it a self funding course, a goverment course or what do you suggest as apprenticeships seem to be far and few between.

Thanks for your time.

These cowboy courses are a complete waste of money, certainly there's less apprentices being employed, but it's still the only way into the trade.

No employers will employ course cowboys, even when there was loads of work around, they were and still are viewed as a joke.

Agreed, not on;y are they viewed a joke, they are a joke.

But a very sad one which relieves people of thousands of pounds in the hope of a good paying career.

Like all cons they hook you with the expectaions of earnings.

You would earn more stacking shelves.
