Hi All,

I am putting up some arris rail fencing in my garden, but I know my timber supplier tends to supply their tannalised wood pretty much soaked through.

I am going to postcrete the posts in, but I am concerned about using postcrete with a post that is wet through. I am thinking that the postcrete will set around the post at its swollen size, and when the post dries out, it will shrink and become loose in the hole.

Am I right in my thinking please, or can I just go ahead with wet posts?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I doubt it will be a problem, but if worried either use concrete spurs, or stick a few screws in the bottoms of the posts left protruding out an inch or so, so that they will get set in the concrete.

Thanks for that - good idea ref the screws!
