Hi all

Just been looking at a potterton lynx 2

fault - when hot water is on for about 2-5min the boiler shuts down
This also happens when the heating is on alone.
I have changed the over heat stat but still the same.

also when the burner fires up it does so with a loud bang, i have cleaned the boiler out (looks new) but there is still a more than average noise when firing up, i have shut the boiler down for the time being as i wasnt happy with the noise.

Any help would be appreciated.

You need to contact a Registered Gas Boiler engineer, from your description, you should not use the boiler untill inspected and repaired

Yes im registered hence saying i shut the boiler off and told the tennant that it was an unsafe appliance and wouldnt be happy leaving it turned on in its current state.
