My Potterton Lynx 2 has developed a problem.

When I turn on the hot water tap or turn on central heating, the demand light comes on, but ignition light stays off.

I'll get someone competent to take a look at it asap, but in the meanwhile any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks

from how much info you have given it could the fan , the aps , or the pcb

Thanks. Is there any more info I can supply without taking the boiler apart?

The system flow switch on this model is one of the most common causes of failure to proceed to ignition as they get dirty and fail to operate or the pump impeller gets dirt in it or the pump partially fails.

The flow switch is shown as 13 on the MI and is confusingly shown as the "CH flow switch".

In fact it functions in both CH and DHW and is better called the system flow switch.

Thanks Tony.

Had the engineer round earlier today. A bit of cleaning seems to have done the trick. Hope this lasts.

Not sure. The engineer wasn't very specific, and I was too busy at the time to ask.
