Hello
I have one of these boilers.
It is now not working. I suspect the pcb is faulty.

When heat/water is switched on, the electrode starts to spark.
The pilot comes on.
You hear some whirling as well (it may be the fan, I don't know).

The pilot stays on, and the sparking carries on.
But the main burner is not lighting up.

I suspect the pcb.

Is there anyway I can take the pcb out and check it & then repair it?
Is there any part of the pcb that I should be looking at first?

Thanks

Sorry. But i doubt you will be getting any advice on this forum. If you are gs registered then post in the combustion chamber. If not then with the greatest of respect. call an engineer.

Yes, you should always be respectful to engineers!

Do you have a gas supply such as at a cooker?

Do you go to the Castle Balti?

I thought this forum was for help and shared experiences.

I fully accept you shouldn't mess about with GAS (unless qualified).
However, the pcb is NOT located in the gas area of the boiler. It is located outside of the gas chamber, and taking the pcb off would NOT interfere with the GAS chamber in anyway.

So you don't think it's the pcb then?

?? Wow, Tony. have you and the saree lady been on the Balti wine again?

There is a way to check what is the fault!

That is to employ a gas reg engineer to do the diagnosis!

Being respectful was a follow on from what TCC said that with the greatest respect you should call an engineer!

Tony

Gas, again with the greatest of respect, you will not receive an answer to your issue on this forum.

No one is trying to be rude when your not given help or the answers are not forthcoming. Anything that directly or indirectly controls, manages or is affiliated to the combustion process, which your issue is - i.e. the main burner is not lighting - will not be discussed in the open forum. It's the forum rules I'm afraid, as the mod indicated.

If I ask a gas engineer to take a look,
HOW do i know he has any experience of my boiler?
How do I know he isn't just blagging it, and will be getting training at my expense.

So! You would not trust gas reg engineer to check your boiler but would
not hesitate to to ask advice on a forum infested with wannabees,
DIYers, google warriors and a bunch of inebriates claiming to be Gas
Safe registered.

What EVIDENCE could a gas engineer provide that he has experience of my boiler? That was the question.

After all, you wouldn't ask a Fiat mechanic to work on a bmw!!!

Please read the question.

Hey gas2fart , what happens when you tap the bottom tray? Phroomph ;)

What evidence do you have or want that anyone on this forum has a
a clue about how to deal with your boiler?

The Prima is a very simple boiler to fault find and most GSR fitters would
be able to sort your problem in a short time.

You do not know the credentials of anyone replying on this forum:cool:

(I am strongly suspecting that this is a DD, BB etc wind up)

Any seconders on this :?:
