A power shower takes its supply of water from the cold water and hot water cylinder, which is not for the totally inexperienced DIYer since it should have a dedicated outlet taken from the cold water tank, and quite often needs a flange fitted to the cylinder to run the hot water supply from. A power shower cannot be used if you have a combi boiler.

An instantaneous electric shower takes it's water supply from the mains supply, which is within the scope of a DIYer.

Both need to be wired up by a qualified (part P approved) electrician.

What are you intending to have installed?
