4 weeks ago I had the gas valve changed on boiler. Over the following weeks I noticed water staining at the base of the boiler which I traced to the top. The manual says this is the Auto Air Valve. The pressure had dropped to .5 bar at which point I turned it off. Any ideas as my plumber has gone on holiday to New Zealand.

Re-pressurise your system via the "filling loop" to 1.5bar if water continues to escape from the auto vent close the auto vent, similar to a dust cap on a car tyre/wheel/innertube,this should stop the leak until you get the auto air vent replaced. But do get it replaced as your boiler will not auto vent in this state and may cause lock out problems.
